Motorola spinning wheel problem.

A friend has a Motorola phone which has started not allowing him to enter apps to clear their cach.
All he gets is a spinning wheel. Now I know he could reset and start from scratch., but he was hoping someone new of a fix or a good cach cleaner that might fix the problem He has tried Ccleaner but it wouldn't work. Personally I think he should back up and factory reset, but I said I'd ask.

They could try holding in the power button/ tapping the power icon, then long press on restart to boot into safe mode. Then trying to clear cash from there.

I have told him what you said @dar1437. I told him to look for his specific model no. He hasn't got back in touch yet, but he is as forgetful as I am, and will probably only let me know how he went on next time I see him. I wiil let know when I do m8. Either way cheers.
