LivingTV's most popular original programme, Most Haunted, is to go interactive for Sky Digital viewers on Saturday, it has been announced today.
The launch of Most Haunted Extra, accessible by pressing the red button on the remote handset, coincides with a repeat showing of Most Haunted 2.
”LivingTV viewers have a passion for the paranormal," said Jonathan Webb, director of interactive programming at Flextech. "The new services will allow them to go ghost hunting and behind the scenes with exclusive footage from that episode. Together with the initial eTV services launched in March we’re now offering our viewers a complete paranormal package!”
Most Haunted Extra will have five main options:
Video diary: For two hours after the Tuesday show and the Sunday repeat, viewers will have exclusive access to extra video footage, with a choice of the Most Haunted video diary, two ghost cams and a sneak preview of the next episode.
Rate the shows: Viewers get the chance to rate the episodes. At the end of series 2, the highest rating episode will be shown again.
Sightings: This area enables viewers to report any sightings of paranormal activity witnessed during the show and on the two ghost cams.
The real truth? This page lists details of the insights received by spirit medium Derek Acorah during the episode. When the viewers highlight each one, they will reveal historian Richard Felix’s validation on the right hand side of the screen to support his claim.
Competition: This section offers viewers the chance to enter a weekly competition offering a paranormal themed prize. The question relates to the episode they have just seen.
Most Haunted premiered in May 2002 and quickly became one of the channel's most successful shows ever. Live specials on Halloween and Christmas attracted almost 3 million viewers between them.
