bought one of these the other week and put xp pro on it, bios update and drivers are on the HP site, great little toy to play with

We bought two and the 2gb memory for it as well.
XP go's well unlike the Acer One this has Bluetooth, and can be upped to 2gb ram

One thing I'd say in favour of the Acer Aspire One is that is has a far better CPU, reviews around the web are more in favour of the Acer One aswell.

Acer One Even with the Keyboard issues, no bluetooth, limited to 1.5gb ram.
the ram is slower, No express card slot, No Aluminum case but plastic. feels more like a toy.
Yeap the CPU is quicker but hey it's a netpad. to replace my Lappy on callouts hooked to N95
I can get the internet via bluetooth well handy at a customers.

I was in Currys Today afte reading this thread and they had both these
HP 8.9" Mini Note 2133 Netbook
acer atom n270 a150 ab blue

The Acer only had the 1/2gb ram and when I was playing with the games on the OP it took ages for them to load
so put me off abit but not sure on witch one to go for

both £199 each and would be great instead of lugging round my Hp 17 lappy
just want it for watching films, surfing net, msn

M8
One of the reason for me buying one was the ability to use my n95 via bluetooth as a modem.
when im at a customers I can surf using my own gear not their wireless.

Forgot to mention I also bought the 6Cell battery pack for it as well.
It also has express slot 34 /54 which has 3g card adapters as well.

Tomorrow Ill try a divx film m8.

My wife has a acer, it has 512mb presoldered on the board so max will be 1.5gb.
The HP2133 max is 2GB.

Ill up a piccy

Are these easy to install XP on as our lass has just bought one and she dont like linux so i was thinking of installing XP. From what ive gathered i either need a bootable USB version of XP or a USB CD Drive to install and did you use a slimmed down version ox XP or was it the full version?

I used a lead which I use it has IDE/SATA etc and I used a old HD drive.
I used a normal copy of SP2 XP Pro.
No probs.

Heres a copy of BOLT on mine via USB HDD.

Screen is a little small but watchable. and stereo speakers WHHooooooooo

I thought about TinyXP and got copies, but its fine.
Had to use COMODO for the anti virus and its sweet
