BIOS/UEFI Dell Vostro 1000 - Hi Guys Need a little help!!!

Today my dad gave me his laptop
he hasn't used it for about 6 months
and when I turn the laptop on
it is asking for a password. I asked my
dad if he set a password he said no.
So here I am stuck.
My dad's laptop is a Dell Vostro 1000.
After trying to guess a password 3 times
I get Master ID: 43822120
Serial Number for the hard drive is LEJH21XB
Service Tag: HHCVCF1
Express Service Tag 38054842525

Any help would be much appreciated.

Then tell us the point the password is requested? Windows password cracking is easy-peasy, BIOS password is tricky

Bios password tricky? So i guess the days of briefly whipping out the CMOS battery have gone?

Depends on whether it's got HD locking or not M8. If it's just a basic mainboard password then whip out the battery and job done If it's got HD locking it's a call to Dell Quizzing the Service Tag should tell...

Bummer, just checked the Service Tag - if it's a BIOS password it's a pay job

What is Assets tag? When I get into bios pressing F2
it only shows Service Tag HHCVCF1 and Master ID 43822120
Can someone point me in the right direction to get the
assets number. Thanks I will try my best to figure out the
hdd password.

Dell use Asset Tag and Service Tag interchangeably M8

No shortage of love M8, just you'll have to go to Dell or a third-party for this. Either way it costs unless another member has the software to unlock it?

I use Dell so I can't vouch for any third-parties but you can Google them easy enough.

I'll have to resort to a 'John Major'! As in, I refer you to my previous answer, or the salient part anyway:

I use Dell so I can't vouch for any third-parties but you can Google them easy enough.

It appears no-one here has the software.

There is a tool on hirens boot cd.

Boot into the cd from startup then search around the disc. Can't remember the exact name of the tool.

When you get to login screen login as administrator and don't type a password. You should get straight in

Here you go guys, not my proggy so thanks to original developer. This little thing is hard to come by.

This will unlock your Dell computer whether it is BIOS or HDD master password.

You need to enter the full Asset number including the "-" for the BIOS and the first ** for the HDD password.

Even works with the dreaded 595B models.

For most Dell laptops the hard drive master password is calculated using the 11 digit hard drive serial number followed by a (-) dash and one of these error codes D35B, A95B, 595B or 2A7B.
