Acer Aspire Laptop Screen replaced now no backlight

Hi Guys,

Anyone replaced a screen on above laptop?
I just put the exact same spec screen in mine and now have no backlight? I can't even see a backlight on the original screen that did have a backlight before the replacement.

This site seems to imply that the motherboard is now not sending the correct voltage to the screen, am I hosed?

I've done this on an other Acer models but not on a 5742, have you looked at the invertor? Does this have one? Make sure it's connected or replace it (only a few quid)

It's an LED screen so no invertor :-(
