TM-TWIN is now publicly released, but cannot seem to find the procedure for updating an image.

Have downloaded and placed on usb but can't figure out what i am doing wrong.

What should be the folder/file structure?
What needs or not to be pressed?

Thanks.

They've zipped the file incorrectly.

Wrong= update\update\twin\.........
Correct= update\twin\.......

Make sure you have backed up any sealions first.
Cut and paste the twin folder into the first update folder so it is above. Boot with usb stick in, press OK on prompt, switch off for one minute after finished. A user has stated that it does not update with two usb drives in. If it doesn't work, remove the other one. (I forgot to test again.)

Just confirmed that the update will not be installed if you place the update usb drive in the front and have another usb drive at the back.

christ why do they make these so bloody complicated ffs,why don't they just keep it the same as the TM800HD single tuner.
Why sell a product without any guidance at all , christ anyone would thing that everyone who buys one is a technical wizard and automatically knows what their doing, don't these people at Technomate understand that the average Joe doesn't get it and just want it simple because it's a little off putting when all you hear about is the problem all the time, Keep it simple guys and maybe more pople would buy your product......

:err: I'd much rather put a stick in and turn it on to update than the old way on the TM800 - turn it on and frantically hit a button continuously, assuming you can remember which buttin it is (actually, I've forgotten again lol)

As far as I know it's the same procedure as the Duo except TM have added a safety feature to the boot loader telling you to press OK to proceed with install, in case you've left the stick in by mistake after a flashing - without that it would automatically start installing again - I don't have a Duo though so can't confirm that.

That's just one way. There's miniweb and online updates as well.

It also comes with a printed user guide explaining how it comes pre-installed with an image

This box is simple to update nothing complicated about it at all.

1. Download the .zip .rar what ever it comes in
2. Extract to root of usb folder structure should be /update/tmtwin/
3. Turn off box and remove any USB you are already using.
4. Insert USB with flash on it in the front and turn on box
5. Box should start updating and might ask you to press ok to continue.
6. Wait for flash to complete. It will tell you to remove USB and reboot your box.
7. You can now insert any USB sticks/drives you might have been using.

Personally I would like it if it only detected updates from front USB only saving the 5seconds that it takes the pull the usb out of the back.

fair play guy's sounds easy then but is it better with the BER on channels because the single is total shit on some channels like FilmpremierHD on 23 east some slyitalia channels and Npremium , jumps all over the place and yet on the open box s10 there comopletely fine, strange!!!

Dont know nothing about BER and how it affects viewing plus im on fixed dish so cant test those channels. Im sure someone will be able to confirm for you though. I can do checks against VU+ Duo on 28.2e if that helps

I can confirm that i dont get any BER issue on my Twin, TM800HD or DM500S using the same dish ,motor and lnb.Using 08w , 4.8e,13e and 28.2e, dont think it has anything to do with the receiver.Maybe one of the respected guru's could confirm or put right so this can be put to bed.

Good to hear, i think the tuner in the TM800HD single is crap the twin is much better, I run both Tm800HD and openbox s10 , NO problems at all with S10 but TM jumps all over the place which proves the tuner is crap

TM800HD single as you like to put it, is a completely different machine to the TM-Twin-OE

The only two things they share in common is the brand name and currently the image team, hardware wise it’s a million miles away and should not be compared

I would also like to add that the tuner in the 800HD is not crap, I use a multisat system I don't have a problem with reception what so ever, and I will continue to say the picture quality @ 1080i on the TM800HD is one of the best I have seen.

Sorry mate but it's a matter of opinion, I know crap is the wrong word just a slight exaggeration on my part however I to use a multisat system and althought generally the Box has performed well and the picture quality is top notch the BER continues to be a problem especially on certain packages that i could get and now can't.

I haven't changed a thing in god knows how many years my set up is perfect with fantastic signel strength on all satellites from 42 east to 30 west. In the last few months something has changed FilmPremier1 HD on 23 east and the package it comes with is now unwatchable as are some slyitalia HD channels and the Npremium polish channels, there are more as well,now for what ever reason whether it be the LNB ( which i have change to invert black) the tuner or transponders something has changed.

I run an Openbox S10 in another room so i took it out and ran where my TM sits and all of the above channels were perfect no cliching and jumping about because of the BER, I asked a couple of friends who have TM800 like me and they have the same problem so it must be the tuner build inside the box it clearly isnt that good as on the S10 or the twin.

yes the TM800HD has been good and continues to be so, it's just this BER has got me confused as well as the lip sync problems
