Hi,

I currently have a TM800HD and have no problems with it. I have just moved house and thinking of upgrading my box, what is the newest/best Technomate currently on the market?

I want to stick with TM as have always used this brand.

Thanks

I like the nano, for its simplicity went from 800hd to this very happy. But all depends on how much u want to spend and what you want it to do

Why not email techomate see if they will do a trade in for a new box you have nothing to loose. I tried my old tm800 last week and then put my tm-twin up against it and wow the speed difference is amazing.

As above ask TM to give you a Part Exchange deal..for putting you through the trauma of buying an owning a rubbish reciever like a TM800HD .. it's the least they can do for putting customers through that whole fiasco and lying to them for 2 years before discontinuing the product !

If they offer you a Part Exchange try for a TM-TWIN I think they cost 199 from TM..which means they might be looking to get rid of stock for a new model... If they dont offer you any Part Exchange..Then your better of with a TM SINGLE rather than a NANO.

The NANO does not have an internal fan, you cant install an internal hard disk without spending extra cash on the caddy kit. There is no SCART socket. Image support is very poor..there is no VIX image for the NANO..and no indication that there ever will be ! I dont think the nano even has a proper front display..just two LED's..

The Single is £169 though..so slightly out of your budget. The Nano is £129.

if tm will do you a part-ex deal, then youll get a tm-single within your budget, depending on what they offer you as part-ex, you may scrape by and get a tm-twin for the top end of your budget

the nano is a cut down version of the single, but in order to fit an internal hdd, you will need to buy the additional caddy kit, and theres not as many images available for the nano as there is for the single, the twin has the best choice of images at the moment though

Hi guys,

have the same box tm800,
does anyone have a standard letter I can send to technomate what might persuade them regarding the part exchange please.

thanks

Just phoned them and they are offering £50 for my tm800.
also they are selling new tm800s for £100.
with 12 months warranty.
not sure what to do yet.

thanks

Theyre offering you £50 for your box and selling you the same model in "new" state for £100 ?? Firstly why would you want to buy another TM800..when it's already proven to be a crap reciever. Did they not offer you a Part Exchange value against a TM SINGLE, TWIN or TM NANO ?? Or was that the same as well £50 trade in ?? I wouldnt be surprised if tney buy TM 800's from customers at £50 clean them up new case etc..then try selling them as new at £100..

£50 is a terrible price..absolutely rubbish.. Your better off trying to sell privately on Gumtree or Fleebay etc.. Although I dont think resale values are very good anyway on TM800..but you might get more than 50 quid.
50 quid is what Dreambox 500s cloens sell for..lol, SD boxes.. Or Openbox and similar recievers.
