has been around for a good while mate streaming is possible for a year at least ,i done this a few times but i think it's easier to just put whatever you want to watch on a usb stick and watch directly on your tm because some movies just can't be streamed.

Cheers thijss26 I knew about the streaming part from patch 1.12 but i assumed with them updating the STB_DAEMON version that they had now finally managed to be able to get streaming done straight from the PC instead of still having to transfer files over, OH! well never mind maybe one day

streaming straight from p.c. worked fine just some movies are unstreamble ,just me personally i think it's a waste of electricity.

Hi digi247 & thijss26,

I don't do any streaming myself... but I thought I'd let you know that a new version of STBDaemon was released on 9th Aug 2012

STBDaemon_304

Thanks to parkminyoung

Thanks Zorch the last time i looked at the streaming capability of the 5402 i only noticed V1.2 or similar that is why with the release of V3.03 they had improved the playability. I have just recently purchased the DrHD Grand triple which has a similar version for streaming but also now does DLNA but i was advised that you had to stick to the specific version of STBDaemon that worked with the receiver.

Although that may not apply with the Technomate

Hi digi247,

...i was advised that you had to stick to the specific version of STBDaemon that worked with the receiver.

This version was released for the 'Strong' receivers... but if you look at the accompanying file you will see that the menus look exactly the same as the Technomate... so it should be OK...

chopps will probably be able to advise further... as I believe he is using this version...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Sorry I missed this one folks.

I can't see any difference between 3.04 and 3.03 apart from a different icon. It still seems to function the same way, but I mainly use it for data file transfers rather than movies, personally.
It's very handy for moving key files to the box, and for moving channel files to and from, also for firmware updates. My box is in an awkward place for USB stick access, so STBDaemon means I never have to take the USB out.
