reading through the starview forum looks like will have to buy a different box as they all seem to be constantly updated,i was able to do eurovox,what"s the best box out there,one you just plug and play,i was going to buy a motorised sat dish,any clues

mate non are really plug and play ... you will need some knowledge of the box you buy
If its linux you will need to learn how to FTP to add the C Line .
If its not linux .. then it will require updating via USB , then manually inputtin server details into the box menu somewhere .
Gone are the old days of the Dbox...Eurovox and starviews , that just require a cable feed and thats it . They are a little more user involved now ..but still very very easy .

he did say starview combo,that will work on sat side if the box has the internet port,then all you need is dish and motor if you wish,later on you can update your box for another make.:Ha::Ha:lol

yeah its a combo so it will work with sat of course !!
but its not just a case of shoving yer dish cable in, which is what he is asking ....
The box WILL need updating(via usb ) they not linux ..also you will need to input the server details( pre paid subs) to watch any premium channels(accessable via the menu) It is NOT as straight forward as just plugging a cable feed in with the right software and voila.. ( like it used to be)

i have the box as i say,i have to pick up a huge remote controlled satellite dish in 2 days it has quad lnb dont know what that is but always on a site like this,there is someone willing to help,everybody no matter who has to start somewhere chrispeters thanks for the help preciated i will need some advice along the way but i am determined to get this up and running

quad lnb means it can take 4 sat cable feeds either 4 single feed boxes or 2 twin sat tuner boxes,curious what size is huge.
