hi
guys i was wondering if i could point my sky dish at hotbird and pick up any channels on the sky receiver
thanks in advance

Yes you can, depending on where you live, If your down south you should be ok but you would be better off with a bigger dish.

I used to have a 60cm Sky dish living in hertfordshire picked up hotbird fine.

Not sure if its worth using a sky box unless you want non english speaking channels.

Sky boxes are designed to work only on Sky - as a result they are severely limited in what they can do on other satellites. Symbol rate, for instance, is limited to only 2 options on a sky box (22000 & 27500 I think).

If you want to play with other satellites then get a decent box !

I use a DVB card in my computer and get astra and hotbird fine !!!

Hi all, nozzer is correct, you need a bigger wok than supplied by sly.The type of dbox to look at are (for instance) are models made by Dream multimedia . I have a dm7000 and await the release of the new dm 8000 .Regards to all z42
