Oryt lads.

Turned on one of my DM500s client box's the other day to no pay channels and this message:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/d2q2cjlg8ngrssr/Capture.PNG

When I FTP'd into the box the CCcam.cfg file was gone! Dunno what mechanism they could have used to insert that message onto the screen.

Things to note:
-My ISP is Sly
-The box password was default
-I had done a factory reboot on the router (stock Sly Router) a few days prior to finding this message, not sure if this sort of thing does or does not influence their being able to detect your activity.
-I hadn't turned on the tellie for a few weeks so don't know when this message actually surfaced.

I've since reinserted the cccam.cfg and changed the box password from default and all's well so far, no contact from the men in suits. :Chainsaw:

Cheers

My own server at a different property. Server is still working rock solid - Different ISP and non-default passwords on the box.

not wise to use that lots broadband & router

with your hobby

not that i am saying is the reason for loss

The actual manpower needed to access every Sly broadband user's data usage would be immense so i doubt its them, first place to look is the server to see if someone has snooped the open port your using for the server.

The biggest one is most use the default 12000 port so quite easy for a hacker who could then get all details from the server and everyone who's connected to it

yes more likely you have been hacked or cloned

never use default settings

my question is why go for the user when server is already found if there is access to the client the server details would have been know and would be easy to trace

I'm using all non-default settings and ports on my server but incidently when logging into my oscam I found two connection attempts under the user that had been hacked earlier. The first was at the IP address I was expecting, the other is 212.117.180.91

Looks like thats the guy causing the drama.

and now the plot thickens:

I had the same problem about 2 years ago, and i managed to document the ip address from back then - 212.117.180.245

Notice the similarity.... The strange thing is that I've changed the port and server address twice since then.

This knobhead's got it in for me.
