Has anyone managed in the last couple of weeks managed to get any discounts with sky? My sub is up for renewal and I have been on 50% discount for the last year. I have phoned sky and there not offering any discounts to me at the moment so I have given one months notice of intent to leave. I will keep there fibre at present as I like the speed.

In your case the only way to do it if sky have refused to offer you anything is close your account with sky and open another new account say in another name say your partner/wife or adult in your household and get 50% discount for another year.

Threaten to cancel the whole Lot TV/Broadband/Phone they stand to lose a lot more than if you where just a TV subscriber, Also factor in most deals come through when you actually have cancelled and leave it 2-3 months and then the begging letters start

Yeh thats what I have done, I've cancelled the tv package and I'm not really that bothered as I have a number of linux box's can easlily get round the situation. I just know the other half and kid like the hd box for it's simplicity. Weird one with the broadband we have all these new open reach fibre box's round the village and I have fibre medium with 30-36 meg download and 10mb up but bt are saying the infinity is not available in the area yet? So it looks like I'm staying with sky for fibre for the moment.

I would try and force BT with your Fibre from Sky hand as you say the Openreach Fibre modem cabinet is there or else how would you have it from Sky, Have to admit they can be a bit complacent at times regards broadband BT that is

Sky refused us any more offers and the usual 'you won't get an offer... Blah bla bla'
Cancelled anyway.

Had a call less than a week later giving us what we wanted (50% full pack rolling contract.)

Sent from my iPhone using Fingers and thumbs ...

ye I agree as long as your paying them for broadband you will get no offer
as for fibre check out ee and the offer on hotukdeals and use topcashback or quidco to sign up
makes it cheap deal

called sky tonight as leaving at the end of the week after they emailed me. Got the 50% discount on the tv package but still going to pay the £20.00 per month for fibre and line rental of £15.40 but now on a rolling month so I can cancel at any time.
