Ive seen a few posts where people are now subscribing to sky, Why ? Are you not jumping the gun a little ?

Are you really going to miss the lack of HD channels ? because that's all it is at the moment, who knows what's next abut at the moment its just HD

do you watch that much subscription TV to make it worth £70 a month :Yikes:

just interested to know how much subscription TV people watch :)

I do watch the odd subscription channel but I wouldn't say I would miss it, I just enjoy the fun of it all Images, Bouquets etc. etc. :)

Freesat will do for me if it comes to it :)

myself i don't even watch tv only got for kids and missus but i won't be subscribing too sky to expensive, i mainly watch movies and tv shows from my nas on xbmc

I won't be subing either, its just not worth it

my wife and kids bleed me dry each month so no I will not pay £70+ for sky

It's made me realise how little we watch it other than the big shows on terrestrial which are mainly for the kids.

I've always downloaded the likes of 24 & GoT anway, and now I've got Fibre BB it's all covered by iPlayers etc, a cheap IPTV sub through XBMC (which Filmon through Dixie and MashUp cover most anyway) and I'll soon be testing **cked SlyGo and Virmin Anywhere accounts (got Spotify and Netflix going for £10 with 12 month warranty on Netflix). This is all through a Win 7 PC connected to the TV which suits my setup. The IPTV stuff can be handled through my Alien 2 STB but I haven't even had that switched on for over a month now.

already pay full whack for the crap

very rarely watch it apart from the sports & few documentary channels

wouldnt miss it

but do it for the hobby nowt else

If I could find a way of watching the Super League Rugby and NFL with out paying either sky or virgin that would do me as I also download the shows I want to watch as I hate the adds on sky, 8 mins of program and 4-5 mins of adds dont make sense when we pay through the nose for programs

I think I will just go with the flow see what happens and go with it, I'm sure something will come about but my PVR function on 800se get used more than the TV plenty to download and watch, and when time is right I will change the tuner :)

I tend to watch 1-5 mostly and will cancel the sub for sure. I only got the sub for the hobby side of it and to save a few mates and family from getting ripped off.

will probably all go by next year

due a card change is it not every 5 years they must change it ?

will probably be black screens then lol

Xbmc all the way plenty of torrents / streams for sport I've been using it for nearly 6 months now and with a bit of reading and trial and error you will get most of the sky content

the only channels I watch is discovery, shed, turbo, any films I watch I download so my 800se will be up for sale for those that want to fit a cable tuner and play but that wont be me :)

As @JimmyP says XBMC on my tablet connected to TV, then download favourite shows and films, plus motorised sat for sports feeds :)

Reckon lots of boxes might be on sale soon as people might have no use for them

I'll be keeping the 800SE for sure and use it as a freesat receiver :)

Not a chance ill pay a subscription, I was watching sLy1 SD last night and its really not that much difference, you get used to it. Think of it this way. Watch a bad football stream online then watch a game on Sly sports 1 SD, You will realise that its not that bad.

I haven't paid full price sky for about 4 years before that used be on Virgin but every year I cancel and get my 50% off for 12 months. Otherwise its not worth it.

I prefer to watch stuff that I've downloaded anyway including films and series which are on my media server. Suppose what I need is some software that cues things up and produces a schedule and I'd have my own hd channel or channels :)
