Some advice

I canceled my contract about 6 weeks ago and turned off the EMM updates as my card was updated until 19-4. I had the full package for £10.50 and they wouldn't do me another deal.

Anyway had an offer through today for 50% off for 12 months and was thinking about going back but need some advice and thoughts about when and how as not to take the update.

As i said entitlements are up till the 19th, but i am still getting EMM's through. Bit of a stupid question but will these EMM's still be deactivation EMM's for the card after so long? I think the will be and don't really want to allow them to find out.

Next should i sign back up with sly before my entitlements run out or will i still have to have to update my sly box with the card in anyway?

Just a quick update, i ended up sending one of the EMM's i had been logging to my card as the entitlements were just about to expire. What i thought could have been an entitlements update due to its length turned out to be the deactivation EMM. I know sky are not that stupid but hey it was worth a shot lol.

Anyway card deactivated so i phoned sky and got the 50% offer for the full pack minus the HD pack for £28.50 for 12 months, i did not want to spend over £30 a month so no HD. I also got a £30 credit on my account, don't know why lol.

So i am sat there last night waiting for an activation EMM to come through and nothing, ended up phoning sky and using the online chat only to find out they had activated an old account from 5+ years ago. Obviously i have no card or box for that account. Had to ring back today but the number they sent in the offer as the normal sky rep last night could not authorize the offer on my new account or swap the packages to the correct account/card.

So phoned them today and got proper account set up and another £20 credit so that's £50 in total. Plus i did not have to stick my card in original box and take the update. EMM come through oscam.

Sky's 50% off offer is going on for some time (on and off), they are struggling to attract new customer amid the competition of Virgin and other TV providers (BT, FreeSat).

Always try to haggle with sky, try to mention competitors names, it would ultimately land you a better deal.:Biggrin2:

I left in DEC and got a 75% letter in Jan which I didn't take up and since then I've been getting 50% off letters. If I didn't take 75% off I'm not going to go for 50% off lol
