The only way I know off is to run another feed from the dish mate ? (lnb even, but same place lol)

Hi

On your Sky remote, press services to see the options menu.

Select settings-the picture menu is displayed
Press 0(zero), 1 then select to access the hidden engineers menu

scroll down to singal feed mode change from off to on

then you should be able to record (one channel only not two)

hope this may help

depending on how your block is wired, you could use something called a 'johansen stacker de-stacker' this is a box that connects to 2 lnb feeds, and a single cable at the top, and another box that connects to the bottom of the single cable, with 2 lnb feeds coming out of it

you MUST have good quality cable, and no longer than ~35M long

theyre about £85 but they do work for situations like this where a 2nd cable CANNOT be run

Still with single feed you will get "No sat signal" most mornings. To sort this a bit turn off auto standby and also with single feed you shouldnt use anytime as it downloads the content via input 2 overnight.Having said this you can use anytime. But not much content will be added. If you live in a highrise i would think it be a communial dish.So you will need a seperate feed run from the nearest switch if there is any space. Also you cannot set to record different channels when you say go on holiday unless they are all on the same channel. If you set reminders on different channels you will get failed and "no sat signal"

I know i went on a bit but just running you through a few probs and solutions.Believe me,i know.lol

that explains a lot, cuz i wondered why i woke up most mornings with no sat signal and its a pain when you have the box in the lounge and you connected through sky-eye in the bedroom...then u just got to go to the lounge to reset the box...i do however enjoy anytime though...if i do what you said, will i loose anytime completely or still get some of the programmes?

its a high-rise and i live on the 11th floor(the last block) i checked the signal quality of it yesterday and it was pretty much full..i also tried with a splitter yesterday, like 1 input and two outputs on the single feed and i dont think i had any joy, the box did work though except that when i checked the signal for input 2, there was nothing there...if i could get some guarantees that the stacker de-stacker is going to work i will defo get it..but i dont want to be wasting my money if doesnt work...

hi
from donshaggy's post

the box will only record channel the reciver is on as there will be no feed to the other tunner (only one cable not two connected)

With one feed you cannot record one channel and watch another.Switching off auto standby will aleviate alot of "No sat signals" in the mornings.Basically with one feed the box gets confused and tries to do other things through input 2 which isnt there. You then turn back to original channel and "No sat signal" there aswell.Reboot.Stacker de stacker might not work to well off communial system.Off communial system they use quatro lnbs not quads. The be all and end all is,turn off auto standby, turn of mini tv.you can use anytime with one feed but it will cause an awful lot of no sat signals in the morning because it downloads the anytime content at night.Hope this helpas guys.

its just disappointing not being able to watch one programme and record the other as i turn to have two programmes going at the same time...i think i will just give it a rest and take what a get till i moe out which hopefully will be soon! Thanks guys for all the response!

I too am suffering the same issues. I am told that if you set a manual record to run 24h then set shows to record it will think feed 2 is in use, promt you to cancel a recording and if you don't, feed 1 will switch to the recording you want a record away.

I have had minor success with this but the "no sat" issues overnight are a pain.

If you use the Sky website of Sky+ app in Iphone it will show you "alternative" viewings and I try to select re runs at off peak times so you can still watch TV in the eve.

This works fine in the day but if you have a recording overnight I get the no sat issue

Why can't sky just build a FW that states "single feed, all recordings, change channel"

can you not plug two feeds into a joiner at the lnb and split the feed later on in your apartment?

Yeah you can stack the feed but you still need 2 feeds in the first place and then you need to de-stack it at the other end but before any wall plate which for me would mean hacking the wall out.

I did look into it but messing around the the roof of a communal building isn't a great idea.

That said, i've a blank wall plate adjacent my sky socket and I unscrewed it to find some coax cable, need to lop it open to see if it's sat coax and even then I'll be surprised if it's connected at the other end but £1.99 for a wall plate on ebay is worth a punt.

Fingers crossed 2 feeds and I can relax, that said Im not loving sky, it'll do but it's a long way off perfect. No iplayer, no on demand, no catch up, multiple feeds needed, horrendous UI.
