how can you upgrade tomtom maps?

I have got, app vers. 5.210 with map v605.
I have got, app vers. 5.000 with map v571.
I have also got a brand new copy of tomtom rider with a brand new updated map.
Can anyone tell me or point me in the right direction which will enable me to update the two older versions with the map from the tom tom rider.

I have looked in to updating maps some time ago. You can only upate camera database and poi's. as for the map itself no way. if you do find a way let us know. regards

As I understand the original version of TomTom does not allow you to update the maps so you are stuck with the version of maps that you bought.

I guess they see it as buy a paper map....

unless you have a hacked PDA, then you can put any map on
