Hello to everyone,
well at last i have got a new receiver it is a tm-5402 hd m2 ci, everything going fine until i tried to blind scan astra at 19deg east i get as far as 22% then i get to frequency 11.675 v and it just stops, the remote will not function on menu etc so i have to turn it off at the rear, the frequency number seems to have two lines through it and moves slightly up and down i can not complete the scan on astra but it was ok on 9 deg east, my last box was a tm5400 the blind scan is different on tm5402 because or the step which range from 1mhz to 32mhz my box is set on 4mhz , could someone please tell me if it is the step settings that are incorrect to stop a scan on astra.
regards Graham.

Try loading 107p to see if it helps.

Issues are well documented with the blind search in the 5402 hd series M1 and M2.

That fuction ( Blind Search ) simply does not work properly. Real pain in the arse.

Truly sorry to post in these terms.

All the best jamsb.

Hi gray60,

Try this mate...

1/ Copy USALS Co-ordinates (if applicable)
2/ Upload/Save CNDF file (if applicable)
3/ Full Factory Reset
4/ Load TM Original Software
5/ Full Factory Reset
6/ Load Phantompatch
7/ Full Factory Reset
8/ Load ADDON_002p
9/ Full Factory Reset
10/ Reload Saved CNDF file (if applicable)
11/ Load Latest TMSoftcam Keyfile
12/ Adjust System Settings (to personal preference)
13/ Adjust Default Volume (to personal preference)
14/ Re-enter USALS Co-ordinates (if applicable)

Blind Search ~ 4MHz step is the default setting (used by most Technomate receivers)

I agree with @jamsb ~ The Blind Search still doesn't work properly... the receiver is still unable to locate/store transponders/frequencies with Symbol Rate 1.000 MS/s ~ 3.000 MS/s

I hope this helps...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

thanks for all the help i will try a few things out
regards graham.

I had this on my TM6900HD Super a few weeks ago - identical apart from it was whilst scanning 1W!
My satellite settings had become inadvertently changed when trying out someone else's Channel List - and the correct range 9,750/10,600 had WRONGLY become 9,750/10,700!
It certainly sorted ME out, much to manic01's intense amusement!! lol!!

thanks for the info i will have alook
regards graham.

hi, the settings seem to be right but when i going through the menu i came across the front panel display, which said in red rf modulator and tuner and scart loop will not work could this have anything to do with my problem?
regards graham.

Are your longitude and latitude settings correct mate - do you know how to find what yours should be where you are?
It really is AMAZING that you are experiencing EXACTLY what I did with 1W!

hi, longitude and latitude are correct got them from dish pointer, after knowing your problem I went to 1W and got the same result stops on 22% at 11.675v my lnb freq is 9.750/10.600 I read a thread, I think from Zorch so if I followed the same as he suggests I could blind scan upto 11.671 then repeat from 11.700 upwards, well I think I will try this out and see what happens .

No mate, it was me who posted I'd tried scanning up to 11676V and then AFTER it in a second blind scan - so I got the best of both worlds spread over two separate scans!

However, a little later when nobody else was getting this 22% scan problem I changed that setting to 9,750/10,600 and it started to complete a WHOLE blind scan on 1W properly without freezing up a 22%! I'd assumed the setting must have changed when I'd tried someone else's Channel List (although I'm usually very careful to check all these settings when I do this!)
Bottom line my blind scans all went ok all through after this and I told manic01 it must have been these 'slip up' causing ONLY ME this problem!
I'll now maybe have to tell him that it WASNT my error after all! lol!!

hi. sorry not to have credited you with the thread regarding scan and scan again which I did, and then checked the settings and then went for gold and tried a blind scan and IT WORKED perfect thank you for your help.
regards graham.

Graham mate, Zorch is the crème de la crème on here in MY opinion - although manic01 & xxxxxx are fantastic too, not to mention digidude, mdt & meriin plus many others, but we are all here to help each other whenever we can - and share 'common' experiences and remedies!
My view is that we wouldn't have to post in the FIRST place if it wasn't actually happening to us, we don't INVENT problems, but its a fantastic feeling when we succeed in sorting them!
All I'm a little unclear of with YOU now though is whether you've actually properly 'sorted' your '22% blind scan freeze', or are simply saying that your are satisfied with running TWO scans either side of the 'problem' area?

Hi Holmroad et al,

...Zorch is the crème de la crème on here in MY opinion - although manic01 & xxxxxx are fantastic too, not to mention digidude, mdt & Merliin plus many others...

Thanks for your vote of confidence mate... however I think it's rather overstated in my case... I do know a great deal about these receivers but not everything... for example I haven't got a clue about anything to do with connecting these receivers to the internet/cs ...and I'm also a bit clueless regarding recording/recording issues... whereas most of the other fantastic members you mention above will (most probably) have a wider/greater knowledge of these receivers than I do... and therefore they will have much more of an idea regarding solutions/remedies to problems concerning those functions/features I previously mentioned... so it's more like a horses-for-courses scenario mate... we ALL try to 'do our bit' in our own way to achieve/acquire a better (collective) understanding of these receivers... and hopefully our 'collective' knowledge will then help other members of the forum to better understand these receivers and their many functions/features... and how to resolve the problems they encounter...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

hi to you all , once again thanks for all your help, just to clarify my blind scan will now complete and not stop at 22% really pleased after all this time.
regards graham.

I have one of these TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+ Mk.2 boxes and am wondering what the basic software it comes with is? Is there a 'patch' which is included in the standard set up or do you have to start from scratch and download a recent one?

I ask because I have done a few blind scans and had no problem. I set the step to 1mhz because any other would have missed the TP I was looking for so it took ages but did complete OK. Subsequent to that I found that you can alter the frequency range to be scanned so I just set the one I was looking for as the start point and voila ;-)
