Hi I’m new to sat I’ve been given a tm 6900 combo off a friend who has had it from new and never got round to switching it on. Any info wear to start would be great.

I have just gone back to using my TM6900HD Super+ one of the best sat receivers ever made shame that TM could not improve on this with the new 5000 HD series.

The Blind Scan is more stable on 7.35p issued Dec 10th 2010 subsequent upgrades after this the Blind Scan has deteriorated the Blind Scan effectiveness leading to less active transponders found,

Working fine for me now with 7.35p not all channels clear with the CAS for obvious reasons but the Biss & CCCam works ok.
Using the TM5402HD for all that is left with CAS 39E,23.5E,19.2E & 13E.

It has to be said here that we still actually await a 'universal' patch - one which does EVERYTHING well, unlike now where certain patches are better than others for different features, e.g. PVR operation is near perfect when using patch 726P (plus SCT HD on 13E opens perfectly without freezing up totally as on 752P etc), so patch 735P may be ok for 'certain' things - but NOT for EVERYTHING, we have to be selective and we all have our own opinions on which patch SINCE 726P is the best for US - I personally favour 752P which helps open 23.5E CS Link with latest softcams, yet PVR operation is totally USELESS, so at present I have to live with that!:Biggrin2:

I do keep reminding Phantom that we still await his NEW patch 753P in the hope that it will make EVERYTHING work perfectly!

I have a feeling that this is it for the TM6900HD super,

Any subsequent upgrades will possible go to the TM6902HD Super unless this has fell out of favor as well,

You Tube is not working on the latest 128p patch on the TM5402HD,or the 6902HD from what I have read recently,

But You Tube is working ok on TM5302 HD with the last upgrade via the Ethernet,

It would seem that market forces have drawn the Phant0m away to newer pastures $$$

Can you please be more precise as to WHICH receiver you actually have here pls mate - is it the 'basic' TM6900 or the TM6900HD Super, as assumed by myself?:Ha:

Hi again spaty,

If I remember correctly... the TM 6800 HD (Non-Super) and the TM 6900 HD (Non-Super) have a very annoying trait/problem when you add/enter HD transponder frequencies...

I think you have to go into the 'Advanced Search' menu and manually enter/adjust them to the correct parameters (see Flysat/KingOfSat/Lyngsat) for each individual HD transponder/frequency...

DVB-S2 / QPSK / select correct FEC / PILOT [OFF]

DVB-S2 / 8PSK / select correct FEC / PILOT [ON]

This is what I had to do when I programmed a friends TM 6800 HD (Non-Super) receiver many moons ago... I don't know if this particular trait/problem was subsequently overcome with better O/S or Patches... it would be interesting to know...

I hope this helps...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Hi @Zorch. Just found this old thread, as I picked up a 6900 combo (non-super). Not getting along with it terribly well- I don't know if it has a fault or maybe just not up to the job. I have tried 699p (what it cam with), 706p & 705p and yes, as you say you still have to enter the parameters manually (what is 'pilot' BTW?) for a new HD transponder. Sadly it doesn't seem to like IS907, which is one I really needed it to work on. Not only does it not 'see' the BBC sat-back transponder, but after trying it, I need to re-boot the box at the mains before it will see any other sat. Shame too, because the terrestrial tuner picks up our local MPEG4 broadcasts (albeit slow) would've been nice to have everything in the same box.

I have a TM6900 HD combo super with and 80cm dish. I can receive 23.5 Astra 1D3A with 80% but i cannot seem to get some of the Dutch FTA channels. I have added the TP manually and it shows a good solid signal on the frequency but on scanning it doesn't pick up the channel. Does anyone know what the reason behind this is ? I have the latest update from technomate installed.

What channels are you trying to receive? I will give it a try on mine if you like.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I'm trying to get all the Dutch channels on the 23.5 (most are subscription ) but as an example TV Gelderland, TV Drenthe, TV Oost, TV Noord and Omroep Fryslan ,which are all on 11.914 H 27.500 and are FTA i'm not able to receive despite a good signal. I have a feeling it may be something to do with the fact that on my receiver it says Astra 1D3A and those channels are now located on the Astra3B , in which case im guessing it will be a software issue on my receiver ?? I'll be interested to see if you do manage to receive those channels and i look forward to hearing from you.

thanks for your help
