Is there a method of accessing the files stored on a hard drive installed in the caddy? There does not seem to be a way of transferring files to a USB stick/drive, or FTPing via the network port, so actually removing the drive appears the only way of getting at them.

Just wondering if its worth transferring the internal drive to a USB caddy and plugging it in to the rear USB port for easier access.

you can have a look at this thread it's only from your tm you can move files from and to your p.c. bit slow but it does work

moving files you do in the filemanager menu and you have to create a directonairy and make sure you set up the satdeamon

Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction.

Got thrown by a Windows Firewall message followed by a "dll not found" message, but transferred files just fine

I take it that you are expecting data to be transferred via a usb cable. That is not how this utility is used. It is done via a network connection. If you see my last post above, I was pointed to a link which explained it to me. Took a little while to get my head around it!

Both my laptop and TM7102 have fixed IP addresses, not DHCP ones. The TM7102 is connected to my LAN with a cable. My laptop connects wirelessly.

File transfers are done using the File Manager option. It is worth creating some extra folders on the TM's HDD to keep them separate from recorded files . I have created ones for firmware, patches and CDFs.
