Cardsharing on technomate 6900 6800 super with SSSP and 8281

Ok peeps, pressing 8281 brings up the server menu

in this you have to add the name of the server, username and password, port, address and DES key

a newcamd line looks like the following

CWS = www.server.com 10000 user password 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 wan server

address
port
username
password
DES key
server

then press the remotes yellow button to attempt to connect to the server ;)

ok

can confirm that it works, but it doesnt like domain names that end in .tv, but putting in an IP address works perfectly, including HD channels across the internet ;)

heres a screen shot of a 6900super in bristol, connecting to a DM600 in wales with an M2+ card in it, and clearing Discovery HD on 1W

;)

details blanked out to protect the guilty lol

i'm glad we can discuss the subject with more detail on this website.

will this only work with a serial cable and/or ethernet?

sssp also works seperatly with receiver connected to a PC via null modem cable, with something like windows sharing pack (WSP) running at the same time. again, select newcamd protocol and fill in the details as outlined above on one of the server tabs, connect the software to your receiver, then connect to the server and youll see the keys in the bottom window as theyre transfered from the server to your receiver via your PC

not as fast as the ethernet, but still works

This is tremendous news. I'll hook mine up with a wireless game adapter. Looking forward to a "how to".

This good support & development does make the over-priced 6000 models 'not so over-priced' :)
Good value for their abilities now, with decent stabilty & ease of use its a very good bit of kit that suits its price tag. I'm not going to recommend cheaper rivals anymore, they've got my vote.
They just need to add the freesat 7-day epg like their rival Fortec and these models will become the ultimate purchase!

SSSP is going to be re-activated for the non super series, so by using WSP you can access card share servers via your PC. it is available in some older patches, but was removed due to stability issues

As long as the support continues, then i totally agree m8, but.........

SSSP for sharing was introduced to the 1000 and 5000 series, then removed. it was also available for the 68/900 for a short while, but again was removed due to stability, on the 3000 series it was added, then removed.

This patch may be one for keeps, as if newcamd support is removed, you can guarantee the patch wont be available from its 'original' source website.

this gives people a whole new choice, and a whole new experience of satellite TV, without the headache of learning anything to do with linux boxes and config files, its all in a nice guided interface as shown in the picture

i have to say im well impressed with it, and ill now also be recommending technomates for motorised HD TV as this now justifies the price tag

Having read this thread I am not wiser as how to get all details for Newcamd settings page. Any links please?

if you search for free card share servers youll find some are listed as newcamd protocol, and will have lines as shown with the coloured explenations

most free ones dont last long though m8

some may not be like my example, they may look like

server name *********
port ******
address www.*******
user 1-50
pass 1-50
deskey 01 02 03 etc

for these, choose a user Id and matching password, so itd be username : user36, password: pass36

"server name *********
port ******
address www.*******
user 1-50
pass 1-50
deskey 01 02 03 etc"

I managed to find free one. The problem is when there is a long entry. The 6900 would not store whole entry and some of the characters will become garbled.

Got it all hooked up and talking to my router. Just need to find a test server now that actually works

I think there are quite afew of us in that position and so it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help us all :thnks:
