Re: Setting a static IP with belkin router

if you have it working just untick DHCP in LAN settings and it will become static on that i.p

or if you have lots of things on your network change the last two digits of the top line in LAN to a higher number, so you won't get conflicts,
    e.g mine is
    "192.168.1.24"
if you want to be even more sure not to get conflicts go into your router and change DHCP range to be below your TM i.p.

also you shouldn't need any password or anything if your connecting over wired lan direct to router...

Re: Setting a static IP with belkin router

you dont need a static ip,

set address reservation in the router for your tm, ie: 192.168.1.7 is the addy your router gives the tm, there should be an option in the router to set that addy reserved for the tm. then when it boots it will get that same ip from the router.

then set up a dyndns account online if its for c/s.

thats what i did and im using dhcp with my router, works fine and i dont have any issues.

if its just for a net connection you shouldnt need a static either but if you want your box to have the same ip, address reservation in the router settings is your friend (if your router has that option).
