All info from various forums, (sataid, linux-support, digitalworldz) and from various members of forums, most notably tomthered and nano, reeves1985, laurals 53, lraizer for his autobouquets. (there are others and sorry if I haven’t mentioned you.
I wrote this guide as not all the answers seemed to be available for me to understand on one forum so decided to do a noob friendly guide.

You will need:
The NBOX receiver
A PC/Laptop
The Nebula image
USB pen
DCC or VuCC (the later is my preference)

First off you’ll need to check what boot is already loaded on your box – turn the box on and read the display, if it says nBox then you can install this image on the box.

Grab the Nebula image and extract it to a usb pen, you will also need to download the update file so your usb pen will have the following files: rootfs.img, uImage and update.

Now put the usb pen in the nbox and turn on. As its booting press the up arrow (on the box, not remote as I done) and press ok when you find UPDT. The box will update to nand (that’s how mine runs) and you may need to reboot when finished (cant remember for 100%).

Congratulations you now have the image running. Follow on screen instructions to set up network and tuners. Remember ANT2 is actually the primary feed so if you only have one feed going to the box it needs to go there.

If Its not in English, press OPT, select 2nd last option, select 2nd option, select 3rd option, and English (if that is your preferred language).

Now to set up autobouquets for sly UK – You will need dvbsnoop and enigma2-plugin-extensions-autobouquets-e2-201208212300-all.zip‎.

When FTP’ing with vucc or dcc remember the user is root and pass if pkteam
FTP dvbsnoop to usr/bin and the .ipk file to tmp folder (on root). Once done go back to your tv and press blue on remote, go to plugins, addons, ipk menu, install and it will install for you. After about a minute or 2 you will have to reboot the box as it will freeze but don’t worry it will have installed fine. Once rebooted go to an sctive channel (pay channel like sky sports) press OPT, setup, service searching and automatic scan. When finished pres OPT, plugins and autobouquets E2. Select your area in HD or SD and press ok.

Now you have channels in order. Only 2 things left to do EPG and Oscam. To set up epg press OPT, setup, crossepg, configure, storage device – HDD, setup the rest as you would like ie time to schedule download etc. Once done go to OpenTV providers and select sky uk 28.2, press green and then yellow to download. Once that’s done you will have a 7 day EPG. There’s another EPG called coolepg I think available in the plugins menu. I had to reboot to load epg data.

Last but not least Oscam (for c-line and n-lines). Press OPT, plugins, green (on remote), emu, and download config_oscam then download oscam_3144 (it’s the only one that worked for me but others may work for you). Go to PC or laptop and open vucc and select ftp once logged in. On the right hand side go to var/keys and edit oscam.server. For N-line it will be –

[reader]
label = <anything>
protocol = newcamd
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
device = DNS_address,port_number
account = username,password
group = 1
fallback = 1

Just change red parts to your line info (leave a comma with no space between user and pass etc. Once done press blue, emu manager, select oscam (press right), press yellow to disable EMU in standby and up to enable mapping CA1 to CA0. Press red to stop and green to restart. Back out and your channels should all now be working.

Yes after going to UPDT the box needs to reboot to pickup the correct bootloader. Also the recommended Oscam is 4158

Should have said in my post above that CoolTV is a front end GUI using Crossepg data but much nicer to look at.

Just like to add that sandisk usb sticks will not work when trying to update/flash the nbox 5800sx as i tried a 4gb, 8gb and 16gb stick and all failed which caused me alot of hours of troubleshooting only to find a different brand stick (verbatim) work straight away without errors.....hope this helps some people.

Elmoemo - Hyperion is based on OpenPLI and I run TSmedia on that. Have got it running at the moment on the box. From the link above download the USB / SATA one. You can then run the box from Nand and use Blue Panel, Install Manager to apply the image onto USB. Takes a few minutes once done, if its on USB reboot the box and choose USH1. After that set it up to suit and once your there back it up as a clean image.

After that if it knackers up it just takes a few minutes to reinstall.
