Got a TV license reminder today...so i paid online... £145.00

They confirmed payment and said "Congratulations you can now sit back, relax, and put your feet up and watch another year of uninterrupted TV"

In reality i'll be scrunching up in the foetal position, kicking my legs about and fuming at the price for another year hehe

Yearly rant over..

One wonders how exactly they would interrupt your viewing it if you didn't pay... constant knocking at the door perhaps?

not paid it in years

no intention of doing so

I got a letter saying they were going to investigate me and send someone to my door???

I called them up and said i was removing the implied right of access to tv licensing and if they came to my door i was going to get them charged with trespassing, when they asked my name (that they kept trying to get out of me) i just kept saying "i am the legal occupier"
Got a letter a couple of days later saying they cannot approach my door but can use one of their other detection methods to tell if i am using equipment to watch live tv broadcasts.

LOL OK

When the come to my door i tell them its ok i dont need one and shut the door and go back to watching tv, iv also got no intention of paying

Clip from the one show 24/01/2013
The vans never did actually detect anything - it was all setup for show - The oscilloscope was just connected to a waveform generator to make it look like it was picking up signals. The BBC has confirmed the vans were real but their detection was fake - Great British public been duped AGAIN.

There are no detector vans anymore - just a bunch of goons who have binoculars to spy on your windows for flickering tv light! The TV license enforcement officers are not officers and they enforce **** all. they are SALESMEN who get upto £20 commission for every license they can con u into buying - they need to pretend they have official power to make u bend over. They have the same powers as a pizza delivery boy. Just slam the door in their face. Go research all this and wise up! CANCEL YOUR LICENCE and take control once n for all!

I cant wait for everyone to wake up to these con merchants:yawn2:

Dam rip off bloody tv licence. No way value for money..

Actually think the license fee is worth it. Children's TV, drama and documentaries are all world class. Getting a bit too much reality TV at times but in general pretty good. Radio is so and so. Listen to Radio 5 for sports sometimes if I am in the car. Any finally, BBC website website is one of the best out there especially bitesize.

i dont subscribe the the BBC channels either, i havent done for about 10 years now. one of their goons will call around every now and then as im constantly buying freeview / freesat receivers using a bank card (which is a breach of my privacy on the banks part but thats another story) and every time i inform them that they may be being recorded for quality or youtube purposes, and point out 'one of the many CCTV cameras'. sometimes ill let them have a play with the remote for the 40" 3D LCD smart tv in the living room, yet they never seem to find a single channel other than 2 different PC screens and games consols on the TV

they then ask why ive been buying equipment to receive broadcasts, and i explain, again, that im an installer, and they are surrounded by satellite equipment, they then try to get me to sign a document, which says they have seen 'sky tv equipment' being used, and they then get told to fook the fook right fookin off and fookin never come fookin back lol

ill have to actually record one of them one day just for the lols

£145 isn't bad considering peeps are prepared to pay between 30 to 50 a quid a month for sky or virgin and the programming is far better than shit they turn out on the satellites

and no adverts,

Example, on the satellites 1 hour program, break it down 20 minutes of adverts and 40 mins of actual programming

The beeb, 1 hour program= 1 hour of what you wanted to watch

i only have freeview and if i want to watch something, i go on my pc to do that

Nothing like a TV licence rant.

I currently pay but i do not watch any of the BBC channels. Nor do i watch live TV. Infact i do not watch much tv at all.

or use their website or listen to the radio

Its upto them to prove that you are watching live TV, live on 2nd floor flat. Asked for my name and can he see my TV.

"all catch-up pal and I will not fund that organisation...."

Register online as catch-up tv only and not needing one. They send a letter, then dont bother for a couple of months.

If they persist, remove rights of access to them.

I was made to believe that the 'Dave' channel was by the BBC but that seems to have adverts??

I refused to get a licence a few years back and eventually I had a goon at my door. He asked if I had a licence. I said I dont need one. He asked me again if I had a TV, so I said again, I dont need a licence. His response was "well hows that?" with a stupid look on his face. So I simply said I was not recieving broadcast channels. He asked to come in and I said "not without a warrant". He said ok I wont bring the police as you don't seem to be a big threat?! Never seen him again.

But if he did enter my home and seen a tv, he would notice it was de-tuned and no aerial was plugged in. Proof I didn't need a licence! ok so if he cracked my ps2 in half he would of seen something similar to a Freeview receiver but hey :/
