Hgv's and 50mph speed limit

Do Hgv's have to stick to the 50 limit when going through average speed camera zone (m6 j9-11) or is it just for fun that they stick to the back bumper on your car at 50mph in snow and ice flashing thier fecking lights at you in lanes 1 and 2.
last night we had to drive over bits of wreckage just seconds after a artic had rear ended a car in the middle lane spinning it round onto the hard shoulder.
For feck sake especialy in this weather driving with the spray is bad enough but with some 40tonne tw@t on your arse wanting you to go faster when you can't by law is just fuckin stupid.
But apart from that its still 50mph because the workmen on that stretch who havent been fucking there since Dec 16th so why the speed limit now.

i have been led to beleive cameras are set to the sped limit + 10% + 3 miles per hour so with the hgv's been limited to 56mph they dont have to worry about it. not that im condoning hgv drivers been tw@ts just trying to lend an explanation and i know exactly what you mean.
 
Forengy lorrys dont care as they dont get the fines/points i think!
 
one thing that puzzles me why 50 mph
yet on a dual carridgeway you can go 70 mph
and there is cyclist pedestrians and learners
workers imo is a poor excuse for lowering speed limit
as for hgv up you arse i say move or die :rip:
 
You've obviously not been the worker on the road with lorries going by at 70mph...
 
my dad and my brother drive coaches, and on dual carriageways they have taken car doors clean off, and sucked things out of parked cars with doors and windows open, without touching the car, while driving past at 56mph, a bigger, heavier truck flying past a 10 stone road worker would suck him clean into the road, either under the back end of the truck, or under whatevers driving along behind the truck

I feel your pain mate.

There is a stretch of road not far from me which is being upgraded and has average speed cameras set at 40Mph due to the large numbers of crew working on the road (M73/A80 North and South). Every time I'm on that bit of road I always seem to have some arsehole tucked into my rear bumper, last night it was an artic, not fun. :(
 
it's cause they have cruise control set at 50mph and the car drivers are hogging the middle lane and not moving over,when the inside lane is empty and not staying at a steady speed and not all wagons are exactly 56mph there is a slight difference in speed, except for the speeders. Yes i am a hgv driver :proud:

That's still no excuse for not leaving a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front stevo.
 
Still no exuse for not moving out the lane and returning to the left as insutcted by the highway code :p

Even when you are in the inside lane????? Its like my truck is bigger that your car....so I must have a bigger cock.....yes but mine does not protrude from my forehead!!

Doesn't matter what lane you're in. Another driver's breaking of the Highway Code still does not excuse dangerous driving by someone else.

Theres also no excuse for HGV drivers to pull out in front of someone doing 70 on a motorway in the overtaking lane, they pull out knowing you aint going to run into them cos they are bigger, then they take 5 minutes to pass another hgv doing maybe 2mph slower than them.

The problem is that they think everyone else should obey the highway code but forget everyone includes them aswell.

Sorry but I hate some truckers attitude....nothing personal though.

i spend a lot of time on the roads, and if your own confidence in your driving means that you need 30 feet of space each side of your car while doing 50mph, you shouldnt be driving, hogging the middle lane is driving without due care and attention.

when i drive, i have a place to go to, i stay left. if youre tootling along at 50mph in the middle lane when youre the only car on the road, im undertaking you, simple as, the left lane is the driving lane, if youre not comfortable in that, then you should be chaufered around in the bus lane instead

I dont get the HGV limt at all either... Why not just slimt there speed at road works ect as they do with every car, why the need to limt them to 56mph when the roads can take 70mph (Probbley more).

the reason you think they pull out on you is because they leave it till they are close to the 1 in front so they are not blocking the middle lane any longer then they need to and if you think they are doing it on purpose,you are obviously not concentrating on the road and reading the road ahead..:Clap:
