just read the local rag, and a few of you will remember the teenager who took her school to court over her wearing a religious bangle, costing many many thousands of tax payers money as well as funds from the education board, and in todays paper, shes changed schools as she dont like her old one no more

what a pathetic little child, why stand and fight, at a cost to others, which her fight was, then win, to then turn round and say i dont want it now

fckukin selfish little bitch

grrrrrrrrrrr

yea, bring back capitol punishment and whipp the f*ck out the little piece of shite.

It probably wasn`t her idea in the first place to fight this bangle case, probably a higher authority and she just went along with it,just shows what an immature little twat she was.

I blame the parents for filling her head with bullshit!!!!

Andy

WTF? What kind of retarded statement is that?!!

sorry, i meant to say corporal punishment , but there again, bring back capital punishment too .

Maybe if the little idiot was chastised properley with her parents and made to take a stupid bangle off, whether they had to wack the shit out of her or not, too many stupid kids getting stupid ideas in thier heads nowdays and i always say its the system that is fooked up and the parents, parents should be able to give thier kids a good battering if thats what it takes, and thats where the system is lacking nowdays, and most (not all) parents dont even have a clue in how to look after thier kids either, the whole thing smells of shite, "retard"..

any chance she was made to feel unwelcome or was advised by the school to leave?? Its like taking your emplyer to court, winning the case and then going to back to work for them. Just not feasible.

she was expelled from the school for breaking the no jewelry rules, so took them to court so she could go back

right from the start, when this was just a local story, i knew itd be one huge waste of time, and public money that could have been better spent elsewhere, like schoolbooks etc for the school she no longer attends but she forced them to spend many many thousands of pounds in legal fees

TBH i cant see her being made to feel very welcome anywhere around the area she lives any more

its a fookin joke init really.......?

iam not that old, put it this way, i was at school when they banned corporal punishment, so that gives you and idea what age i am, and boy o boy, what a mistake they made banning it, after that there was no deterant in schools for misbehavior, so the boys and girls just done what ever they liked with no fear, however before the ban everyone showed respect when the teacher started waving the big belt about and most people respected thier parents too for similar reasons, this in my opinion is the reason why in this present day we have so much of a problem with youth disorder, thats why corporal punishment should be brought back.

In my time at school (before the ban), the girls ""had to obey the rules"", they couldnt ware makeup of any kind and they certainly couldnt ware jewellery of any kind, i can even remember the teachers forcing them to take earings out etc, and if they persisted then they would get a good leathering with the belt/cane/meter stick etc, there was not much difference in the punishment for boys and girls, especially in the secondary school.

Everything is fooked nowdays and i say that is most likley the root of all the problems, no corporal punishment = no respect.

I think the the biggest problem m8,is the parenting or lack of.

i agree wi slasher theres just no respect with youth of today

Underneath all this anger, there is a debate regarding the personal and the public; the political and the private here.

Should religious symbolism be allowed in state education? If so, where is the line? Should Hijab be observed and allowed during sports day?

I don't know the answer to be fair, but many on here do know of my athiest background.

As far as the girl is concerened, I do not see the need for whipping her, or calling her a 'selfish little bitch'. I've got an egg to crack. Anyone got a sledgehammer?

Do not blame her. Blame a civilised society that becomes so wealthy and self reflexive that every small infraction on the individual ends up in court.

Everyone is just so entitled in this country.

I think religious views are BS anyway, why can't everyone get along and get pissed every day of the week? **** school, **** the bangles and every other band around, **** the denominator and **** the fish and chip shops that sell dodgy fish and chips.

**** everyone and everything, let's have a drink.

If that girl had just got pissed out of her head and went to school with a bottle of vodka then none of this would have happened, don't think she would have been too bothered.

Yeah - I here what your saying - I was in school a few years ago and yeah there was a few bastereds but surley hitting them isnt really the awasner is it, There otherways, Such as community service in schools - Make them wash the canteen floor, Help the dinnfer ladies, Pick up the rubbish durning the barke - Supervised by a athuroity from school for some sort. Humility ate them and there'll be laugh at by there mates - then they wont do it again, also the current school disapline such as supenstions and "punishment exersizes" is a load of crap imo

However, This tieing in with her whereing some sort of regulish bangale, Its a fucking bangle, The school should have just accepted it, It not going to scare anyone or hurt anyone, So they should have just let here ware it ? Mabey, Im not sure, It shure as hell wasnt worth the money to go to court.

I agree with your argument on a common sense level but the problem is that the Cherie Blair head scarf case set a precedent in this country. That case opened the flood gates for similar types of claims. Now everyone wants their religious rights at school which is completely screwed up, as religion really should have no place in a young persons life.

All this is doing is dividing communities but politicians and judges cannot see past that or care not to.

And now every fcuking PC clan solicitor is jumping on the gravy train they call legal aid, costing the good old tax payer millions on siht like this.
Is this the one who claimed she was some sort of Welsh Hindu thing?

The thing is where does it stop .If you start letting people wear religious symbols then you could have just about anything from 2 foot long necks to cannibals wanting to be allowed to practice THEIR religion in our schools .At the end of the day this is BRITAIN .Just abide by OUR laws and there wont be any problems. If you want to try and enforce YOUR laws on us.Then be aware .We will not not lie down and let you roll over us and why should we ?

The only thing about that charlie, is that in this case, she took her predicament to court and won, so did abide by our race relations and equality laws.

Indeed, the school did not.

Where does that leave us?
