Hi m8,

I assume that it's set up as a slave?

If you go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management and click on Storage then Disk Management down the left hand side, it should show you your drives.
If you right click on the new slave drive it will give you the option of formatting it.
Once formatted it should appear in My Computer.

Hopefully that will do the trick
:)

Yeah it is set up as a slave . I had to find a jumper to put in my master coz there was`t { didn`t think they could run with out }

And it is detected in the bios
But i didn`t format the dive in any way

sp2 or not ? Just I think xp has a limit of 120 gig h/drive and maybe thats ya problem ;)

Yep thats definitely right Dutcho, as I once lost a 160GB slave after I reinstalled XP, it didn't reappear until I installed SP2. Caused me much grief at the time.

Try patition magic and see if that will sort it for you, other wise sp2 route might sort the problem for you as well

my mate sorted me out with a burnt disk with sp 2 on i think

if was to take my old hard disk out and try to set up from the disk on the the new one..... would this be a idear

or could it just update my current xp on the current disk with my current product keys....?
