Bought a 2nd hand laptop and had to get password off buyer. I did a refresh through settings and started downloading updates which went ok apart from 1 ( a graphics driver) which always fails, tried the Acer website but that's says I have a customized driver and can't update it. Anyway my main problem is every time I try to update to 8 it downloads fine starts to install then restarts but gets stuck at 82%. I've tried several solutions found on the web but none work. I was planning on just finding a win8 iso and doing a fresh install but I don't have a key on the bottom of the laptop. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can update or do a fresh install?

You will be better off installing a clean copy of 8.1,if you intend to use it to connect to sat boxes or android devices or any other devices then install win 7,win 8 can be a pain with drivers etc.
I have seen win 7 and 8 ISO in correct download section here..
If not let me know and will be happy to upload a pre activated win 7 or win 8.1 ISO.

With OEM preinstalled Win 8, the key is built into the BIOS/UEFI and will activate both the 32 and 64bit versions.

cheers guys, managed to update eventually. I did a refresh via settings and just left it a week to make sure all updates were done and it updated to 8.1 straight away.
