my dell studio 1735 laptop occasionally shuts down by itself then reboots.
when it shuts down screen goes all scrambled looking then closes down.
I have noticed it is a bit slow booting up, when I open it up from log off state the CPU % jumps up to max then drops back when its fully started, when I open up something like my email account it jumps up also to almost max then drops back after a bit.
I have also noticed when I click on a internet shortcut, sometimes a little blue circle spins for a fairly a bit before it opens, it really is annoying at times.
Any advise would be most appreciated.:thnks:"respect": thanks :

Almost 30 days guys no replies or help offered, am I asking in the wrong section. I think it looks like I am going to have to reinstall my windows 7 to see if this works.:ST Geo:

Charming.

Sounds like a virus to me or malware running in the background of your browser. have u ran a full scan with Malwarebytes?

thanks ManofScience
Yes I have done that, have also run my avg, ccleaner, nothing showing. I'm thinking could it be my graphics card, I also keep getting notices this page not responding, or request to recover web page.
I do hope I have not offended you or anyone else with my previous post, it was not intended, if I have I do apologise.

I had an almost identical issue with a desktop a few years back, tried everything, turned out it was a faulty graphics card. Discovered it 5 days after warranty ran out, grrr!

have noticed also when I am downloading the same things happen more often. I am really puzzled what to do next, pc doesn't seem to be getting too hot. but have noticed the fan comes on fairly often as well now so could processor. I don't know could be me now looking for problems. :):?

1. Have you checked that the vents/heatsink are not blocked/covered in dust?

2.Easiest way to diagnose whether it is software or hardware is to use a bootable linux distribution. If it works fine on the external medium, then more than likely software.
