Evening,

I've got a strange problem, my Cisco modem is connected to my PC that's getting a DHCP address and internet works.

When I connect the modem to any other pc/laptop with dhcp enabled I get no internet? Whether I try a static ip or dhcp ip

What could be the issue? Why only allow one connection? Mac address related?

Thanks

Have you got a modem or router ? I don't remember VM ever supplying a cisco branded modem.

Is your PC directly connecting to the interent if using a modem ? Do you reboot the modem when switching between devices ?

Definitely a modem.I've not rebooted the modem when switching between devices. The pc is connected directly to the modem

Have you tried calling VM, they should be able to check if they recieve a DHCP request. Also static addressing won't work I would have thought.

Could test by downloading some mac changing software and change the "test" pc's mac address to that of the "working pc" if it works you know you have mac address restrictions.
