How can I format a write protected hdd

No password, it was an old 1 from a laptop i just put it in a caddy but everytime a connect, it says you must format drive I tryed it in a vu and works fine, I'll try that gpart

Yes it was I only tryed to format the drive to use in a dm800 but it won't format in pc or mount in dm

You could try to make it an external drive using an old HD enclosure, and connect it to a Mac or Linux box to format it.

You could also create a bootable CD with Hirens Boot CD (h**p://w*w.hiren.info/pages/bootcd) and use one of the Hard Disk tools to reformat or wipe the disk.
 
If it's just folder permissions, try GParted.

If the drive has been password protected, it might not even be possible.

I have used GParted many times in the past, and to great success! If I were you, I would absolutely take Little's advice. The program is very easy-to-use, and can be found in all sorts of corners of the internet. Both paid and unpaid... However, that's a topic for another day. With that being said.
