Im hoping to change the hard drive on my all in one sony to a SSD and also upgrade my RAM to 2x2gb. There is currently only 2gb installed. Ive checked the crucial website and they say 2gb is the max my computer can take. But surely if I upgrade to windows 8.1 64 bit I will be able to get 4gb...

Im also not sure on what type of SSD I need to buy, doesnt seem to be much support regarding this system anywhere online.

That's not the way it works unfortunately. If the hardware doesn't support 4GB, you won't be able to use 4GB. The Crucial website might be wrong, but I don't want to get your hopes up.

Download and install a hardware identifying program, such as Speccy, and use that to identify the hard drive currently installed. Googling the model name will get you the info you need, i.e. whether it's SATA or not.

Its all to do with what the mobo can handle and after looking im afraid to what little info i could find the model you have got can only handle 2gb.So i would suggest getting windows 8/8.1 32bit as you wont be able to go no higher than 2 anyway. It should run fine on it ive got windows 8.1 running on 3 of my machines. Two of thgem are around 3-4 years old but does the trick for media/browsing etc etc.
