Everything works fine, but after about 4 hours of inactivity or long term useage of the internert, it doesnt work and i get the ! icon.. we disconnect and try to disconnect but its says that no networks have been found... The only way we've found to fixing this problem is restarting the lap top which is quite frustrating.,

Any ideas?

Thanks

I had a similar problem with mine. Rather than restarting - I right clicked the wireless network icon on the bottom right of the screen and clicked repair. That usually did it for me.
I never resolved why the connection kept dropping though, despite changing the network card and many calls to BT's call centre in India!!!!
I recently changed my PC and have never had the problem since - although the settings are exactly the same.

just the old white one... Its always been the same on this laptop....

When i click repair it says it cannot find any networks to connect to... im starting to get very frustrated!

Not at all.

However, I think your homehub is set up to automatically change channels by default. Changing it on the machine wont really achieve much.

I have a similar problem on my netbook. If I leave it in standby for too long, it wont go back on the wlan unless I restart it. Its annoying, but I have never found a soloution to the problem.

If you go to device manager and find your wireless card , right click and there is a tab for power managment , there is an option to allow computer to turn off this device to save power

Could be that ...worth a try
