Epson R220 printer problem (Red Flashing Lights)

I got 2 epson R220 printers and both of them have the same problem,

When i turn the printers on there are 2 flashing lights that are flasing continuously (next to the power button), i have looked at the manual and the manual states that the printers dvd tray is open, but there is no tray attached to the printers.

I also have another which is working perfectly fine, but when i turn the power button on the working one there is some movement with the ink inside and then it is ready to go, where as the not working printers there is no movement just the 2 red light flashing. there is ink already installed in the printers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Update: The epson technicians have confirmed that there is a fault with the printer and providing i have proof of purchase that the item is under 1 years old this would be covered under there warranty. Unfortunately my receipt has been misplaced so i would appreciate it if some1 can forward me a copy, a fleabay receipt would also be valid..

Are there any paper jam & check for any small object tha may have gone in???
 
every so often epson printers don't work due to needing a service when mine went down my partner ( aka taffy ) found how to do the service himself from info on here maybe if you do a search you can find it I would ask him but he's not it at the mo and I don't know much about this site yet.
 
theres no paper jam and i cant see or hear any object inside the printer that is lose, and yes Mrs Taffy can you get your partner to drop me a pm on how to do a service as it could be the case with the printer or it could be something else but yes its worth a try,
 
opn the 300 if the red light flashs u have to press the maintaince button
looks like a bit of paper with a drop of ink
 
when you open the front flap lift the lid aswell and you will see on the front there is a pull down tray for dvd printing make sure its in position when you switch it on
 
it definately sounds like a problem with the mechanism
looking at mine i think the switch is either the little white catch on the top but unlikely, if you look at the bottom left side of the tray as you pull it down youll see a metal lever i think its more likely that
 
ok downloaded the software,on the resetter tab when i click on tab is says deviceand when i click on test message come up not found, do you want to begin device resetting ? remember to remove the chip, what chip is this and what will i be resetting ? in the tab option this is how it shows , it does show all the data about my ink tho so device must be connected right?

downloaded the software and now this is the problem that i am incurring,

on the resetter tab when i click on check message come up device not found,

when i click on test do you want to ? remember to remove the chip.

what does resetting the chip do, and what is the chip?

on the ink monitor head ink shots, the inks quantity is displayed, however printer report tab all 0% showing...

any help????????
 
Ok nice 1 contacted epson and they have confirmed there is a fault with the printer..but they need a proof of purchase i bought 2 printers from fleabay but cant find the receipt anywhere so i need a receipt under 1 year so can can correct the fault of issue me with a replacement 1....can any1 help...ebay receipt is fine also as the customer representative confirmed with his supervisor........
