Hi all, please can anyone help me? got a openbox x5 & i want to use a 3g dongle on it which it says it supports but i can`t seem to get it to connect.

can you explain you have done so far. this is important, understanding your problem makes it easier to help you.

no network/internet, no channels?. i am sure most people here either connect with WiFi or Ethernet, bearing that in mind that many users would like to know if other connection are working.

I had a play with one of these the other day and it appears that 3g support is not yet available.

The firmware currently released only supports hard wired and certain wifi usb "dongles".

3G support apparently is on the way - but not available yet. I guess you just need to keep an eye on firmware releases as that's the only way the driver for the 3g modem will be loaded onto the box to be able to be used.

Hope that helps...

There is an update for firmware dated 11/1/2013 it doesn't say what it changes tho.
It does also say on spec that gprs is an option (whatever that means)

do you have to use this 3g connection? i don't think 3g {in general} has taken a big step in to becoming a working option in sat receivers. especially within lower priced boxes

I have an f4 and 3G works fine but only on one providor. O2 sim in the sim slot and away it goes.

Thanks for all your replys, looks like i will have to wait for a new firmware.
