openbox S9 hd pvr

i have ordered a sample of this box from manufacturer so i will let you know how it goes ease of setup ect
it is the same spec as skybox s9 and solomend i.e. as digi said it looks like a cross between a spider box and dm800 inside

i received this box this morning i ordered it on the 27th and it was delivered today 31st it seems to be very good on all channels the sound is very good picture excellent setup even i managed it the menus are simple and easy to understand

I am missing the CBS channels action drama and reality if anyone could give me the details for them i would be grateful also any free card share servers if you could PM the details of servers please

where did you order from and what price did you get it for.

got mines up and running yesterday and working a treat

firmware used also insrted channels in favourites, but is there a way i can soprt the channels how i want

I have the pvr800 editor programme, but how do i get the ALL CHANNEL listing into there, so i can amend

do i have to ave to USB first, then open in PC or can i do it directly from box

any help is much appreciated

i ordered it from the manufacturer in china and the cost depends on how you pay paypal has a premium charge if you google you will find uk dealers

its upto you whether you order from china or a drop shipper

well i have had the openbox up and running with no problems it is very easy to enter a cline with the remote the epg is still a work in progress and hopefully the manufacturer will sort it soon as it is advertised as a pvr but i dont see how you can set a recording without a full epg
the picture is excellent as is the sound and fast zapping from one channel to another
it runs cold so we just need some programmers to work on a porting an epg over to it better than a now and next on the channel you are on

sounds a bit like the kryptview cable box when it first came out. so the epg is guff, everything else is ok. what about finding satellites, is it automatic do u need to put settings in. what else have u found?

I seriously doubt we will get a better epg. I could be wrong but i wouldnt hold my breath.

that was also said about the kryptview box m8, the writers of the firmware got it right eventually. however there were people who slagged it rotten because of the epg. eventually it did exactly what it said on the tin and until nagra 3 was the most stable and easiest box out there. moral of the story? you cant run around saying something is crap and wont get better! keep the negativity to a level of where u can produce proof or can back up your statements with facts!

@ edogg, how are you finding this box? any updates?

Where did i say it was crap bud? I have this box since last April and have helped plenty of people with it on this forum and other forums. So go and piss off with your negativity crap M8

I seriously doubt we will get a better epg. I could be wrong but i wouldnt hold my breath.

after some one says that about a crap epg, your not giving the developers much respect. it may be they are developing software that helps people get better sattelite or they may not have had the time to develop a decent epg. you cant imply that there isnt one its way without giving us some sort proof or correspondence to say so. im interested in this box as a second box for the room. so im watching here and keeping an eye on the price and how the software is coming along. afik there isnt that many decent epgs out there it seems to be the general moan and groan here about boxes, its mostly about epg.

Ive uploaded the latest firmware. What have you done lately?

For the price of the box and what it can do most people can live with epg problems that could be fixed im also looking at one for a cheap second box so i can live without the epg.

could u not have said then? instead your post said 'DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH' u could have elaborated in your post. this was the point i was trying to put over. i dont read who posts what, i just read. your post just seemed like a negative jibe at an epg that u may or may not know anything about. i read that and thought u just put a useless comment in. hence why i commented originaly. im not trying to upset anyone, im trying to educate myself here.

I dont know about the kryptview i never had 1 and i only have a sky satellite dish that i have access to(not mine) so i cant say about finding satellites I just plugged it in and did a blind scan and it found all the channels that are on astra 28e
I am in contact with the manufacturer and the epg is being worked on i have just had a software update which is to fix the rebooting on some skysport channels and to make reading cards NDS iredeto viaccess ect i dont know if this is newer than 31.08 that has been posted as i have been away so i will upload for people to try but backup your channel list first so it can be reflashed after the update.
it has been stable and caused no problems according to my son who has been using it as a main box he is very happy with it and so is his family
