I will be moving to USA (Florida) next month for 6 months and I was wondering if it is at all possible to watch any European TV such as sky whilst in USA and Id so what receiver would you suggest I should take with me. I have skybox F5 at the moment.
Many thanks in advance

leave the receiver at home.
You would need a 1meter dish for fta here and the only sat with a lot of programming is 97w.
That is mostly the homesick channels from the middle east and asia.
Galaxy 19 at 97.0°W - LyngSat
The rest of the sats from 61w to 123w have little or nothing on them.

Maybe get a sling box and leave them both over here so you can stream to yourself.

many thanks for the reply and info. I was hoping to be able to receive sky channels from Astra 28.2 east.

If you use a dns of some kind you'll be able to access tvcatchup.com which will at least give you freeview on a web browser

Or xbmc with navix when it works

many thanks for the info. I guess that will have to do. I was told that sky can be watched in the us. probably I got it wrong.

Through sky go on a computer / tablet with a dns again but you won't get 28.2e on satellite sadly :(

Thank you so much for the info. Very much appreciated.

in the colonies 30w is my most eastern gettable sat (the beams to north america)
transponder freqs higher than 11700 rule of thumb. Why we can use standard ku linear lnbs.

for florida the range of sats is 30w to 123w
you can check lyngsat for that range and the sad lack of programming we have to deal with.
Some sats just have 1 or 2 channels ku band.

sorry you can watch sporting events Americans here in europe
