can a softmodded pal wii play USA games?

If your using priiloader then yes , just set it to region free everything,
might be other ways but thats what I do

you can use any region game with con usb loader no need to ater any settings

is that allready installed with the softmod or do i need to install that?

it should be the last thing thats installed during softmod so you probably have it,
Just hold in the reset button then power on it should take you to the priiloader menu where you also disable updates,

i'm playing with backup discs m8, will usa work from backup disc loader?

i'm not sure m8.

you should get a hard drive m8 and play from there, it makes a world of diffrence.....

ive got an ntsc game on my pc, i'll burn it now, see if it works.... ;)

yes m8,
just burned a ntsc game, worked perfectly.. :)

bro's tut?

it the easiest part m8.....

and the backup manager is superb.
you dont need to unzip the iso's or nuthin.....

also what you might not be aware of,
the wii can only read data of a dvd back up at half the speed of a normal game.

sometimes during gameplay you get "please wait loading" screen up.
i noticed it on toy story ...
i also think it would kill your drive eventually....

i was reluctant to go the h/d route, but its worth it in the end, you won't look back... :)

Short answer is no, m8. As far as i can find out, the Wii emulates the Gamecube, and when your finished, you have to switch off/on again. The GC never had a USB port, so it (the Wii in GC emulation) doesnt see the drive to able to "load" the disc.

I thought i saw something about a hardware emulation, not sure what it was, but pretty sure you cant use a USB loader. I wanted one as well!

You can also patch ANY region game to play on PAL consoles using WIU v1.1

I use it to also remove any updates on the disc, and convert any NON-PAL region to PAL

I have priiloader installed and set to region free, but I guess I'm just making sure that it always thinks its a PAL game and it can't do any updates to the console as there is now no longer any updates on the disc

I've been playing JAP and NTSC games for a very long time without any issues, apart from the JAP character set when playing true JAP games, but you can usually guess what does what to play the game

Just looked a bit more on other sources, it just isn't possible at all to play GameCube games via the USB, but you can get ISO's of gameCube games and create your own multi-game DVD to play via normal disc loading

Unless you have the newest black/red wii that WILL NOT play DVD-R's then your stuck with USB loader, unless you replace the internal drive with a new older revison drive that does play DVD-R ... which does mean taking your wii apart. Not a hard job but those screws are damn small and have a habit of disappearing !!
