r4 card not working

my boy just bought a r4 card at a market stall with a 2g card told the bloke that it was for his dsi and he said he had it with his sons dsi but he updated by mistake and that the card no longer works on it. Anyway ive just put the card into my boys dsi and all i get is a black screen saying error please keep the power button pressed to turn of the dsi. i dont even get the menu up on the screen?

any help please also ive tryed 2 different micro sd cards in it and both the same

cant do any pics as ive not got a cam here but its black with silver writing and says

sounds like your dsi is either on 1.4.2 or 1.4.3 and your card either cant handle that or it needs to be updated if thats possible, go to the site thats on the sticker and grab the latest version of software and also see if the card is compatable for 1.4.2/1.4.3
check you dsi by clicking on the spanner icon and seeing what version of firmware its on

as above looks like you have an updated consul which blocks the cards. to update your cart get a consul which is below 1.41 and flash the cart with the right firmare once you have done one leave the lowest consul on and you can update as many cards as you have at the one time

thats the thing my boys dsi is on 1.4.1 firmware?

yes, but dsi firmware 1.4 blocked alll previous released flashcards...
as the card is not new, then this could be the problem...

easiest thing to do is test it on a dslite,
that way you will know if card works or not and if dsi firmware 1.4 is blocking it..

buzzer is right mate i jacked mine in when kids updated dsi s to 1.4 . just get a acekard2i cant go wrong with them mate . my boys acekard2i now works on the all ds , dsi and 3ds

ive got a acekard 2i here in my other boys dsi and have had it for over a year with no probs, just my youngest got a dsi for crimbo and saw this today (paid £10 for it) as we`d be lookin around 3-4 weeks waiting on a new card to come in the post
