NTL is axing its 0800 customer service number and redirecting customers to local and national rate support lines.

The cable operator informed customers of the news in the latest edition of its online NTL Insider leaflet. From May 8, (0800) 052 2000 - in use since the days of CableTel - will shut down and be replaced by (0845) 454 0000. Those wanting support for their broadband internet connection will have to dial (0871) 225 1111.

Therefore, to speak to an NTL customer service agent regarding a TV or phone line problem, customers will have to pay a 6p connection charge plus up to 5p per minute to call the (0845) number. To speak to broadband support, customers will have to pay the 6p connection charge plus up to 10p per minute for the (0871) number.

Freephone numbers here Type NTL or the phone number in and it will give you the freephone number http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php
