Dying teenage cancer patient Stephen Sutton COMPLETES bucket list after raising £1million for charity

After the 19-year-old posted an emotional final message from his hospital bed yesterday generous well-wishers completed his aim of raising the seven-figure sum for the Teenage Cancer Trust

Dying teenage cancer sufferer Stephen Sutton today had his final wish granted after raising a staggering £1million for charity.

The 19-year-old, from Birmingham, started a bucket list of things he wanted to do before he died, one such target was to raise seven figures for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Over night generous well-wishers pushed him over the magic number after he said a sad farewell via social media to his followers.

Yesterday Stephen told Facebook friends: “It’s a final thumbs up from me! I’ve done well to blag things as well as I have up till now, but unfortunately I think this is just one hurdle too far."

This morning comedian Jason Manford, who has supported the youngster throughout his campaign, tweeted to confirm the good news - and that Stephen had seen the milestone.

Celebrities TV presenter Philip Schofield and top chef Raymond Blanc joined the long list of celebrities urging people to help the fund top the £1 million mark today.

Stephen took to social media to thank those who have helped the campaign gain so much traction.

He wrote: "The whole situation is just breathtaking in many ways!!

"But seriously... Wow. Just wow. Thank you all so much!"

Last night Stephen tweeted that he was truly humbled by the support and said "tonight's show of love and support epitomises how great people can be".

He has devoted his time to raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

When given the news his condition was incurable in 2012, Stephen set out to raise £10,000 for fellow sufferers.

But his drive caught the imagination of the public and the £1 million mark was set.

However, yesterday Stephen revealed on his Facebook page that his condition had deteriorated. He tragically posted that he was “nearing the end.”

His last heartbreaking message read: “It’s a shame the end has come so suddenly - there’s so many people I haven’t got round to properly thank or say goodbye too. Apologies for that.

“There was also so many exciting projects and things I didn’t get to see out. Hopefully some will continue and if you want to carry on the fundraising please do.

“All future updates on this page will probably be from a family member. I hopefully may have the energy to write a few tweets.

"I will continue fighting for as long as I can, and whatever happens next I want you all to know I am currently in a good place mentally and at ease with the situation.

“That’s it from me. But life has been good. Very good.

“Thank you to my mum and the rest of my family for everything.”
