I have been waiting for fibre in my area for ages. My exchange has been enabled and i have noticed a new fibre cabinet next to the one I'm connected to but it still says unavailable on checker sites. How long do they usually take to get it all up and running.

If it's anything like BT Infinity, I'm in the same position except I registered my interest so, when it's ready I'll get an email :)

What's manu BTW and why would @manic01 be a fan?

Never had a problem with BT customer service myself or the register your interest for Fibre, It was a while ago that i registered with them and was informed immediately when it became available i think around 2 months and that was just over 2 years ago now.

Never had a single problem with the BT service (touch wood) and in the 2 years i have had Fibre its been down for approximately 30 mins one early morning during the week, In my eyes thats prety good service not saying its the best but its not too shabby by a long shot

Manu is an english football team manchester united and everyone other than manchester united fans ...... Lets just say they dislike them..... I agree its prob down to their success over many years and as a Leeds utd fan myself (i know how bad we are at the moment so no need to remind me) we have a special dislike/rivalry with them. His avatar pic gives it away.

I have expressed an interest with the bt site but was just wondering if anyone had an idea of the time scale that was all. Didnt really want a sarcastic remark just a helpful response from someone who might have an idea of the time scale.

is this a insulting football team thread or bt fibre broadband thread

Well it did start out as a bt fibre thread but has somewhat digressed into not so much an insulting football team thread, more a lighthearted footy banter come bt fibre thread. I not only had a go at his football team but mine also and not to mention even praising his, I'm sure its nothing he or she hasn't had said to him in manchester. But then if he or she is a manchester united fan then they will probably live anywhere but manchester.....(i know another dig but couldn't help myself )

Light-hearted banter on my part. The fibre roll-out does seem to be proceeding steadily but getting any detail is difficult.

You'd have to check the provider you want to go with I guess. My exchange (for example) is showing as 'taking orders' but it's also clear availability varies and that's just in the village (about 400 homes).
