O.K Just an update.
I have received the new HDMI 2 HDMI lead today and plugged it into the lappy and then T.V.
Booted lappy up and picture and sound worked perfectly.
I'm not sure what was wrong, but guesssing installing the latest drivers for my video card helped. But I also think I may have had a dodggy lead, what can you expect for £2.50 in store. So Got a 5mtr from flee bay for £4.95 including postage.
