OPENBOX X5 & Skybox F6 Recovery

1. Format USB drive to FAT32 file format
2. Create a folder named "recovery" on the USB drive
3. Copy KD_P9000E_HD.bin file to the recovery folder on the USB drive.
4. Connect the USB drive to the USB Port on the satellite receiver.
5. Turn the power on the satellite receiver while pressing the OK button on the front panel.
6. Keep the OK key pressed until showing Lxxx message on the LED of the front panel.
7. On the TV screen it should show that the software is updating by the USB drive.
8. The STB should now restart hopefully all should now be working

Hey thanks i done this on a skybox a6 and it didnt go into the boot process but what ever happened it booted my bricked a6 skybox like magig haha thjanks

hi im try this method on my skybox a6 every time whrn i put in my box press ok button it says fail can you upload right firmware for me or how i can change rom.bin im trying to fix my box last 8 month can you help me plz thanks

Hi.
Could you suggest what usb drive would work properly with the openbox x5?
The one I have, 1gb doesn 't seem to work.
I heard it 's got to be an old one, of probably 500mb.

openbox will read FAT32 format.
If your tying to update your channel list usual updates from openbox .dbs WILL NOT work as X5 models channel lists are .bin files.
X5 models are rubbish due to updating your list.

Thanks for your reply River4Ever. I see we support the same team.
My usb flash drive works properly for updating using the openbox x5 menu.
But I am trying to recover my box using the usb flash drive at booting. Because a few weeks ago, I got the AUTHENTICATION MESSAGE (CHIP IS EMPTY) and I lost my Network Control to use iks.
