It goes deeper than that Ian. Scottish football itself is a bit of a joke now that big money rules.

The glory days of the 60s/70s/80s are long gone.

dont need big money to develop & coach players to a decent level
but you do need a manager that knows what he is doing obviously delia can do neither
we have never been at european level for decades but our glory was qualifying for the ucl he cant even manage that
taking club backwards at a massive rate we all know he only there till the other half arrive again time to go now

You can't coach and develop players to a decent level if those players capable of that development have already gone to the English clubs with the money to provide amazing academies and facilities and position specific coaching.
Yes there will be the odd rough diamond that has been missed by the English clubs but there won't be many, which leaves you in the position of being "unable to polish a turd".
In case you think I am having a pop at Celtic, this is across the board in Scotland.

Okay. I understand your sadness but I was unfortunate enough to be in Malmo (although the beer was good)to witness the spine of the Scotland team run aground. If you were there you would have felt like i did. I'm taking it from your DEILA MUST GO stance you weren't. Every Celtic fan i spoke to after the game knew it wasn't a Deila problem but a morale within the scottish players problem. The Scotland national side not long after were going out because they're heads were down. With this happening there was a problem not just for Celtic but with the national side. Beating ourselves down after games is not the solution and you cannot blame Deila for that. HH

delia should go back to norway where he belongs wont say what his level is (certainly not european football)
board problem is taking easy option of hiring a poor manager & be happy with relative poor domestic success until the other half of old firm arrive back to push them further most fans know it ( empty seats )
