I have just visited my caravan to find a nightmare it looks like it was not drained down proparly as I have been fixing burst pipes all day 9 sections in total lol just got home been there since 9am nightmare.

I thought I had done all the hard work but before I left I decided to try the boiler I nearly died when I saw it had a slight leak right at the bottom on what looks like a brass flying saucer.

Then I checked the brass nut I normally unscrew when I drain down and realised it would not tighten any further it just keeps slipping and then it started to leak slightly.

Anyway I took the nut out and it looks like the threads are a bit worn.

Anyone got any Idea how much damage could be done to the boiler Im hoping a new nut or some thread tape might solve the problem is this wish full thinking ?

I couldnt take any photos because I had no phone with me but Ive managed to find a simular part on ebay and used that as a pic.

any help lads before I phone a corgi man I would use my insurance but It would just go sky high.

thanks for any advice )

I would just replace the valve m80, you will not need a corgi man to change that :)
As long as you have not cracked the heat exchanger, all should be ok.

What valve MARYHINGE it that just the brass nut that I screw out when I drain down.

Sorry for my stupidness have not got a clue about parts etc

Where you say there is a small leak, in there, there is a diaphragm to switch the heating to the water when the tap is opened (demand) that could be cracked.

That whole unit in the picture is the diverter valve.

ok thanks Maryhinge your a star better get looking for a replacment valve then )

thanks

Can you get the make of the boiler in the van and i may be able to help you out mate, i assume its a static van you got?

if you look at my post a few down from this it has a place that is dirt cheap for parts ;) they do next day delivery and carry a lot of valves yours looks like a Giannoni one.

Went down and got the details yesterday It,s a morco G11- water heater

After some digging and reading I realised it,s the drain plug that's threaded and the water assembly is leaking.

I orderd the part of ebay last night so I should have it tomorrow Im gonna try and change it over my self.

Is this a simple job lad,s or should I get a professional lol

God loves a try'er and I hate getting ripped off.

Anyway here is a pic of the part I bought, Im confident at changing over the water points but its just the pin attachment on the top im not sure about ??

yeh cheers for the tip Zad I have got a Washer and rubber O-Ring pack with lots a different sizes and some plummers tape lol

Have you got any knowledge on changing these bits over Im not to confident at removing the pin and connections at the top of water assembly.

I suppose its just a case of undoing it and remembering so you know how to connect the new one ??

Ouch im sure I will be ok when I get stuck in lmao

Cheers jimmy I will keep that for future ref )

Thing is by the time I bought a new Drain Plug and Diaphragm etc etc It would have cost me near £30 and my current one is all corroded and stuff anyway made sense to swap the full lot this time.

cheers for that link though that's just what I needed

yyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrr fixed this last night all went well was easy as pish just two bolts and 2 small screws.

Took me no more then 5 whole minutes, and plummer on the caravan site wanted £50.

That is £10 a minute charming :proud:
