hi there guys im havin a bit of trouble. i use windows xp and multiple users. thing is, my little bro's are always downloading c**p off the internet such as football matches that are 4GB each. Anyway i need a software that can allow me to manage how much of the disk they can use. ie, i have 4 users on my computer, i wanna give a maximum disk space of 10GB to one user and varied between users. does windows come with anything that allows this or can i get a software that allows me to do it?
thanks in advance for any help.

guys not to worry, foud it. if anyone is interested, here's the official version my ms.

h**p://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/win2003/quotas.mspx

SORRY...it does not enable you to set different quota for different users. anyone know how to do it?

yes m8, disk quotas can be set for individuals but only at root of the volume not at folder level, has to be on ntfs partition.

if u right click on a volume c: d: e: etc and select properties then select quota tab. (if quota not there, either u are not administrator/u didnt select root or disk not ntfs)
select enable quota then choose size of total quotared size and alarms/notification etc then chose ok depending on the size of disk may take few secs/mins to collect info.

then u need to choose quota entries this is where u u can choose different sizes for different users ie user 1 has 10 g user 2 has 5 g and user 3 has 0g the user will not get any message to say quota is set but it will react as if the disc is full.

if u need more info after u have looked at it give me a shout
