I have got windows 7 ultimate on my laptop. It was working at the morning and then 2 mins later when I turned it off and back on. It came up with phoenix failsafe. I don't know the key to get it back up and running. I was wondering if anyone can help me please.

Hi ann this is from the notebook.com review forum

Here is the SOLUTION I used.

Type "msconfig" in the "Search programs and files" dialogue box in the start menu to bring up the "system configuration" utility which is built in to windows.

In the "Startup" tab uncheck "FailSafeLauncher"

Click OK and your done.

if you rebbot your laptop and keep pressing F8 it will the then give you a chioce of ways to load windows, choose safe mode then when it boots up use the procedure as above. Hope this helps.

When you got the laptop did you keep documentation as there should be a key in there.

no what he means the documentation that came with the laptop when he brought it

phoenix comes pre installed with a lot of new laptops and the key is normaly in the documentation that came with your laptop.

You can try this - go to FAILSAFE and fill in the forgot username or password.

If you do not have any details - the machine is bricked if you cannot prove ownership etc. it is no longer operable.
