Backing up system drivers

i have acronis and have a back up image of my disc from a few days ago but had virus which seems to be gone now but pc seems to be running a lot slower so was going to reformat but did not want to use the image from a few days ago in case there are traces of the virus in it, so want to do a clean install but want a copy of my drivers.

Are you not better off downloading the latest ones?

I know it can be a pain with some hardware but if you've got mainstream stuff then it should be painless.

agree with spectre, its a good idea to download the latest drivers from each manufacturer of all the hardware in your pc.

The drivers each company submitted to m/soft for inclusion with the release of windows at any time in many cases are just enough to get the thing to work with the new windows version but without all the bells and whistles. And in many cases if you have installed hardware with a cd/dvd from the box of your printer or scanner etc there are often newer drivers on the support pages with fixes.

whilst your system is running albeit slow using the device manager you can identify all the hardware that is currently installed and get the drivers before you start.
