Sorry i forgot them details basically i will be using it for burning on so would have to be a little thick but not too thick prob only about an inch thick as im making some wall hangings with them.

Thanks again in advance

Burning? Anyway, you'll probably need to go for a sheet of exterior ply and cut to suit. B&Q ain't the cheapest at £40 for 8'x4' (18mm) but they'll cut it so you'll be able to get it in the car. Careful what you burn on it lol

You can get furniture board from B&Q etc - these are edge glued boards intended for shelving and cabinet making. B&Q have both oak and pine boards on their website.

Thanks for all the replys guys much help i think i have found what i was looking for while doing a long extensive search around this afternoon.
@manic01 no mate plywood is horrid wood to burn with tbh i have tried once before when i first started as i was trying out different woods. The more expensive woods burn better but just cant afford it.
@Him Her MDF isn't bad wood really its a tad too dark so you have to burn a little bit deeper to make the pattern stand out but its nice wood to burn with once sanded down once.
@little_pob I havnt looked on there tbh but i shall give it a gander and see what they have.

But thanks so much guys for all your time and help its truly much appreciated.

what about using some old wardrobes and so on which can be picked up for not much at some charity shops
most old style ones will be solid wood and will get you lots of peices once the jigsaw comes out
