There is one going cheap in the classified section sticky. It's only 9000.00. Cheap as chips. ;)

I was told a Nook HD or Kobo Aura HD are better, the Kindle is locked to Amazon (for books) and adverts.
These are electronic reading books first and tablets second, where as your standard tablet does all things as well as be used an electronic reading book.

That not bad Miggy what reg is it and is it petrol

The new one's are wind powered sticky so watch what you buy some are shite. Don't get the solar powered one it is always going flat. :)

Decent enough bit of kit for the price, but the Amazon app store doesn't seem to have a lot to offer compared to google play. Just bought the wife a Google Nexus 7 (2nd generation). Nice little bit of kit. Runs Android 4.4.2 (KitKat, after an update). Although more expensive, you get some great features. Screen resolution is 1920x1200, 2GB RAM, making it quick and the picture quality on it is pin-sharp. Wish I'd kept it for me!!! lol

No idea what you can do on the Kindle Fire HD, but maybe having a look at the Nexus instead maybe an option?

Regards,

snapman

Sticky, I have got the kindle fire hd it's a great piece of kit mate and plenty of free stuff in the Amazon store. ;)

I can also highly recommend the nexus 7. There's models, one with a simcard slot so you can use it on the go, it's a little more expensive than the wifi-only version. Both are excellent. Good battery life, plenty of apps on the Google Play store and you can download the kindle app for free.

I have the kindle hd and its spot on,the browser is really quick the apps are fine too.You can put pub files on and read them ,you don't have to download from Amazon,I've also put some apk apps on like btsport and they work fine :)

Can you stream to tv with the nexus

mrs has kindle fire hd, you can put any music, films, audio and ebooks on and no need to go anywhere near amozon.

With the right setting in config you can download apps from google app store or anywhere else and again no need to go near amazon.

With the right account info netflix works a treat too.
